The Town of Rutland Treasurer/Collector’s Office is seeking to fill the non-benefitted part time position of Collection’s Assistant. This is a flexible part time position that will average about 13 hours per week on a yearly basis.
The successful candidate will need to have a very flexible schedule that will allow them to cover the office during busy tax weeks and work additional hours for staff vacations and personal days but may have very few hours during times when tax bills are not due.
The position requires a very detail oriented person with strong organizational skills. They must be familiar with various financial software including Microsoft Excel and Word and have strong verbal communication skills. Experience with VADAR software is preferred but not required. The successful candidate must also have the ability to be bonded.
The successful candidate would be expected to assist the Treasurer/Collector with various duties in the office which may include processing mail, answering phones, assisting taxpayers with billing questions, posting payments, processing A/P checks, and other duties as assigned by the Treasurer/Collector.
